QUESTION
I have added a lot of dimensions to my plan and would now like to delete them. Is there a quick and easy way to delete all of my dimensions at once?
ANSWER
You can quickly delete your automatic and manually drawn dimensions using the Delete Dimensions or Delete Objects tool. Additionally, you can turn off the display of your dimensions so they are not visible while working on other parts of your project. First, we will discuss how to toggle the display of dimensions.
To toggle the display of dimensions
- In a floor plan view, select Tools> Display Options from the menu.
- Locate the "Dimensions" layer and remove the check from the Disp column.
- Click OK, and notice that your dimensions are now hidden from view.
You can access this same dialog to toggle the display of dimensions back on at anytime.
To delete dimensions using the Delete Dimensions tool*
*Applies to Home Designer 2025 and newer versions.
- Select CAD> Dimensions> Delete Dimensions from the menu.
- All dimensions located on the current floor or within the active cross section/elevation view will be deleted.
To delete dimensions using the Delete Objects tool
- Select Edit> Delete Objects from the menu.
- In the Delete Objects dialog that appears:
- Under the Delete Scope section, select the All Rooms On This Floor or All Floors* option.
*Applies to Home Designer Pro.
- Check the Dimensions, Automatic and/or Dimensions, Manual boxes.
- Click the Delete button to remove the selected dimensions. You can repeat this process for any additional floors in your plan that you want to remove dimensions from.
If you're using Home Designer Pro and have selected the All Floors Delete Scope option, all dimensions of that type will be deleted from the plan.
